Hello from Hollywood

As Tina landed at the Mumbai International Airport, her phone rang. She sneered as she saw who called.... United States of America on the line, it was Xenny. Xenny asked Tina where she was, and Tina told her, ready to check-out. Xenny seemed to be excited about something, then she told Tina she got a role as a supporting actress in a thrill espionage movie with one of the best movie production companies in Hollywood. Tina was happy for her, equally excited, Tina wished to be there to see Xenny's castings. They did not talk for long since it was Tina's turn for custom checking.

Whenever her business with the custom people was done and cleared, she tried to contact Chandni to know where she should meet Chandni in that airport. But to her dismay, Chandni did not reply her call and as she checked the list of flight arrival from Hyderabad, the plane was delayed. Tina had to wait for another hour. Suddenly something struck her mind. She went to a duty-free shop and bought a package of colorful paper and a marker-pen. She took out a leaf of the paper and wrote Chandni's name on it.

The arrival of Chandni's plane was due and Tina waited by the exit door with that paper in her hand.
A pretty young Indian woman about twenty-three years of age emerged, her eyes browsing the crowd and when her eyes spotted her name and she smiled widely and rushed towards Tina. Tina looked at Chandni's luggage and asked her if she was ready for their holiday stalks. Jokingly Chandni asked if Tina brought along her bodyguard.

Chandni already booked them a room in a hotel. A four-star hotel not far from the airport. Chandni said that it would give them the facility to depart again.

To Mumbai

On board the plane on a long distance between Kuala Lumpur and Mumbai, may bore the passengers. It was a good thing that Tina chose  Airbus with video facilities. On this kind of modern aircraft, they had video-audio equipment that the passengers could either listen to music or watch some movies.

Tina chose to watch video. And she watched a movie from the 70's "Grease" with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John as the leading actor and actress.

Next to her seat was a man about late 20's. He had a nice profile, looked serious and she greeted him, introduced herself and the young man mentioned his name being Jeremy. The movie on the screen kept on rolling while Tina and the man beside her engaged themselves in a quite interesting conversation. He said he was in the entertainment business in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Tina was impressed and asked him if he managed a casino or a cabaret hall and he replied that his business was quite vast. In return he asked her about her, and she replied that her business was "needles and pins". Jeremy smiled and spoke about the importance of that work. Tactfully he said that his "can-can" girls would wear nothing if there weren't anybody in the "needles and pins" business, looking at his own outfit and spread his hands. Tina laughed. He spoke about some bars in Las Vegas, casino in hotels and some shows.  Then they exchanged calling-cards like business people habitually do.

Tina's voyage

Tina's flight took off on time, to a destination planned, that is Kuala Lumpur. As it was planned she intended to stay there for a couple of days, since she had business in her mind. She made a contact a few days before her departure with a certain businesswoman named Anisah who was dealing in export and import.

After she checked out from the airport, she found Anisah was waiting for her in the arrival lounge. She did not expected it. Anisah took her to a hotel she booked. Then Anisah arranged that Tina should dine on time in the evening, because she was to take Tina to see Kuala Lumpur by night. The following morning, they met again to pay a visit to a garments factory.

Two days in Malaysia was satisfactory, then it was time for Tina to board on another airplane, destination Mumbai, India to meet Chandni as scheduled.

Surprised Mike

Mike, one of Tina's friends, who was an IT expert, went to pay Tina a visit. When he reached Tina's house he saw quite a number of people where outside by her car. One of them was Tina's father. A very rich and reliable real-estate agent. Mike thought it was a miracle to find Tina's father there, since he was not too sticky to his independent daughter, neither was she to him. More to Mike's astonishment, he saw Richard came out from the house with a suitcase and a hand-bag heading towards the car and put those baggage into the baggage compartment. He rushed and asked who was going where and why. Richard laughed and replied that their girl-friend was leaving for Mauritius for a month-long holiday. Baffled. As Tina showed up by the door, after a hurry greetings and introduction to Tina's father, Mike complained that she did not inform him of her plan. She said she forgot.

Mike mentioned about hearing that Tina had rented a space to open a shop, and he was thinking of offering her his IT services. Tina smiled and said that it was too early to have a computerized billing system in her business, besides she still had to make some negotiations with a future prospective co-tenant. Tina looked at her watch and said she had to start going and she promised to talk about the IT subject after the holiday. They shook hands and kissed each other's cheeks and Mike made Tina promised to video-call him from there. And  also not to forget to bring home some souvenirs.

What had Mirabelle in mind?

Mirabelle just received confirmation about Tina's and Chandni's schedule arriving in her island. That morning, after the news, Mirabelle plunged herself into thoughts and figured out the plan how her two foreign friends would spend their holiday. She thought of something different, unusual. It was end of the year holiday season when many people prefer to have long Christmas and New Year vacation and that would leave many companies less employees, so much as monetary circulations need to be maintained. An idea came to Mirabelle, why not have a partime work adventure, yet what or which and where. That was excitingly interesting, but first of all she should book a place for them.

To obtain a nice accommodation for her friends, she surfed in the Internet and found a place which she hoped would please them.

Then her mind went back to the idea of bringing along her foreign friends into an adventure. Maybe as  co-animators or bartenders in a music-pub or maybe sales-representatives in a mall... Mirabelle sneered at her own ideas. She visualized her friends in those situations. It would definitely be fun! And they would be able to exchange their holiday wages with some beautiful Mauritian souvenirs. And Mirabelle also thought of dressing them up in Sega dance costume and taking them to a beach party to dance around a New Year's Eve bonfire. That would be marvelously nice.

Making friends with work

One makes friends not only by creating a society. Developing relationships with human being or with animals. In making friends, one gets to know the object of friendship. There are people who see something in somebody, then they get themselves acquainted, their friendship may become closer and deeper, which turn either into best-friends or even lovers. These are common, but there are also people simply take the object superficially and kept at arms length as they call it "buddy-buddy". That is okay. But what about making friends with the work or the job? People look for a job to get sustenance or as a life-support, every one knows that. And they look for a job that they know they can do and they like, this is definitely. People would not be able to perform well if they don't like the work.

And yet some people may be trapped in a such situation  that somehow they are forced to take a work they don't like, it is either because it is not their qualifications or due to unpleasant environment. In this situation inner-battles develop. It is either to be a stayer or leaver. Wise people, seeing the necessities, would make friends with that work, in a sense by learning about the work and even try to develop a kind of sixth sense to be able to visualize the characters of the work. Sound strange it is, but the moment the person succeeded in studying the object, he would find the the work which first he did not like, now has become something easy to deal with. 

This process often happens in a situation when for example a civil engineer graduate and unemployed is forced to help his father in a commodity shop where he smell odors he does not like, for instance the stinging smell of dry hot-chilly mix with the smell of spices in goni sacks, and in the end, he finds it a pleasure to serve buyers. Here we may say that he was able to make friends with a work and that led to making friends with people.

Unemployment crisis

Since the end of the second millenium and the beginning of this present third millenium , the world has been swimming in tribulations. Disputes have been rising among nations, many people have lost a lot and many are reluctant to speak about them. Unemployment rate is raising and refuses to decline. Efforts have been made till today to decrease that high unemployment rate. Many big surviving company have been making efforts to open working opportunities to people in one way or another and one of those ways are the possibilities to work from home. And that good opportunity is not without hindrances, for instance, those who would like to have a micro business at home, need capital. To collect capital from nowhere is impossible and it has become a major problem.
They say, those who are educated might be able to find their solutions. But what if those intelligent person are stuck?

There is another way that seem so easy, in the Internet field which has become so popular nowadays, and that one also has drawbacks, again capital. Capital to buy the equipment like computer or like it.
Then they, the well-off who are concerned about this crisis, established places for public to be able to use computers either with low fees, they call Cyber club or Cyber Cafe. Or some even have been so kind as to offer free of charge to some individuals and together they work charities. Such have been the effort to share sustenance to the world and yet, so much effort done, the crisis rate is still high.

Efforts are still being done and will continually be done that the people wish of a peaceful and prosper world would somehow be achieved.

Tina's feasibility study into business (5)

Tina's gotten the registration, alright, next step operation permit, but one thing they have forgotten. Tina was supposed to look for a partner or co-tenant in occupying the shop space at the Grand Indonesia Mall. This she should had obtained prior to the registration application. They saw a problem. She mentioned this problem to Edward and he shrieked.

Edward studied the plan again, and then he exclaimed that in her budgets, she hadn't included the co-tenant affair yet. He told Tina that would come after. They decided to look for a partner. An advertisement, in the newspaper or on-line, that should help. And there would be the Tenancy Agreement Amendment then the Company Registration Amendment to take care of.

Tina sighed and thought , she really had a long way to go before her shop would get a co-tenant and go operational. In the meantime, she told Edward, she'd continued with her drop-shipping, and why not doing on-line drop-shipping, too! Edward asked her not to create complications if she would want to keep herself fit. Tina laughed. So they went to an advertisement agency to post "looking for a business co-tenant" ads. So, thus, that day ended.

Mike the smart boy

There were Tina the dressmaker, Edward the business consultant, Richard the Hotel management graduate who was looking for experience abroad and Christine nicknamed Chris who was a make-up artist. Remained Mike to be introduced. Mike was an Informatics Technology expert. After completing his high-school, he went to an university and took Informatics Technology and Computer Science. A smart and happy-go-lucky boy who knew how and where to find his money. No one could say that he was a loner for he had quite a large scope of relations, just when his friends did not see him for sometime, they would know that he must be up to something in his solitude. In his solitude, Mike either dipped himself in serious matters or just relaxing writing blogs in some websites that he did not want anyone of his friends to know about. And he was also a charming groomer like "Great Gatsby". God help ladies who laid eyes on him...

Planning for a picnic

On a Sunday like that day, people either stay home or spend their leisure time somewhere else. That Sunday, Tina was visited by all her friends including the business consultant. Chris, Mike and Richard, each brought with him a snack to share. Edward brought some drinks.

They sat in the salon and made some plans for  a picnic or a sort of an outing by the end of the year or the beginning of the following year before everyone resumed to work. Mike suggested a dinner in open air on a camping site. Richard suggested a weekend in a natural park.

While they were talking, Tina's computer's messenger rang, it was from Mauritius. Mirabelle  appeared on the screen. Tina introduced Mirabelle to her friends. Then Tina mentioned about what they were doing. Mirabelle jokingly suggested her island as their end of  year destination, but Tina regretfully refused because she was expecting Chandni. She told Mirabelle that she had a contact in India with whom she spent the Divali festival that year, and she had invited her Indian friend to spend the end of year festivity in Tina's place. Like jet-sets, so these people thought jet-sets. Mirabelle asked Tina to change her plan, to ask Chandni to join her and company at Mirabelle's island, that would be fun. Chris, Mike and Richard including Edward looked at each other and said to Tina that it would be a very good idea. A great adventure while closing the year. Tina agreed of the idea and said to Mirabelle she'd talked it over with her friends and let her know soonest.

While they were talking, moving around Tina's salon, Mike bumped into Chris and spilled his drink on Chris's beautiful Sunday dress. Chris went red....! Of rage or ...?

Richard's objectives

A week after Tina's trip to India, she received a phone call. It was Richard. He asked her if they could hangout somewhere. Tina said she could only go out later in the evening, because she had to  her do dressmaking project. She was planning to start advertising her products by words to her drop-ship clients. She told Richard briefly about her shop. Somehow Tina asked where they should meet, Richard said their meeting place would be at Merdeka Square, he would bring some refreshments. Tina thought it sounded quite okay.

In that evening, as they sat on folding-stools that Richard always had in his four-wheels drive car, Richard who just completed his studies in Tourism and Hotel Management, told her of his plan to find experience abroad. Tina said it was a good idea, and she suggested France or America. Tina's friends considered her as someone who had vast knowledge of places. But Richard said those countries were too far and he did have enough financial support to go there, so he mentioned about ASEAN countries. Then Tina suggested Philippines. Too many people had been going to the nearest like Malaysia and Singapore. The choice to the Philippines would not be a bad idea.

While eating and drinking under the stars, they continued their discussion. Suddenly Tina turned and looked at Richard from head to toe and said laughingly that she did not notice Richard's smart look that evening
