Wedding Anniversary

Children grow up to be adolescents then they come to the age towards maturity which commonly the least is at nineteen years, though nowadays the age of adulthood is eighteen years. At that age, they start to have the right of legal identity as an individual, detached from their parents. Then they come to the age of falling in love and get married.

Many get married out of love, but not few also take a vow of marriage of convenience. Not very romantic indeed, but that does not stop for that particular couple from celebrating their marriage anniversary.

Some couple celebrate it by taking "an evening for two only" and some throw a gathering party, sharing their romantic moments with their family and friends.

Many "An evening for two only"  spent on romantic sumptious dinner, flowers and candles. Sometimes in a restaurant with  a certain musician paid to play exclusively for the ones celebrating, and sometimes simply having a romantic home cooked dinner followed by some other activities like listening to music over sips of wine or watch television entertainment programs.

And those who love to share with other, if not inviting the guests to their homes, they may hold it in a hall or hotel ballroom decorated with special decoration for the occasion.

Wedding anniversaries have names, which means a name is given to a certain marriage duration, for instance if a marriage reached duration of five years, the anniversary is called "Wooden wedding anniversary". In this occasion, the couple might choose everything wooden as their decorations in the lieu of their feast. Even the gift that the couple may receive from each other and the guests are made of wood. Not forgetting the ones who celebrate also should have something made of wood on their costumes. Must be funny indeed and fun.

Other wedding anniversaries names such as Tin, Crystal, and others surely must be celebrated in a similar way. Now, let us wonder if ever a couple's marriage reaches the Diamond Wedding, would they clad themselves  in diamond and receiving diamonds as gifts? That would be very awesome!

Costume dresses around the world - Angola

Angola, a country in Africa which has become a member of petroleum exporter country is the seventh largest country in Africa. A country with Portuguese influence due to colonization. And naturally her African culture is also somehow mixed with Portuguese. As well as the culture, Angola's world of fashion is keeping up with international fashion and trends by recently participating in a showcasing of pan-African designers in Africa Fashion International event in Johannesburg.

Advanced Angola maybe in world of fashion, but her colorful traditional costumes somehow are well preserved.

A topic between Tina and Mirabelle

It was another Sunday. But this Sunday, after breakfast Tina's Internet Messenger rang, a video-call. It was Mirabelle. They exchanged greetings and they started talking about the things that interested them. Mirabelle asked Tina if she knew anything about myths. Tina said she read some about the Greeks' or the Romans' or some about the Indians'. And Mirabelle mentioned about Psyche, Echo and Athena. Tina asked if Mirabelle thought, by the hazard, that somehow those characters really existed in the spirit realm. Laughingly Mirabelle commented that no one would really know but somehow the myths would remain alive to eternity.

Then they talk about Tina's plan of spending Christmas and New Year in Mirabelle's island of Mauritius. Tina said she contacted Chandni already and told her about the change of plan, it was a good thing, Chandni agreed. Chandni quoted "curiosity kills the cat", since she was curious to know about that particular small island, so small that  could hardly  be noticed in the world map. Mirabelle sneered. Mirabelle offered a nice bungalow for them. And also a transportation to take them on trips around the island. Mirabelle mentioned about places they could go or do. Tina seemed to be very interested and they continued chatting, talking about nonsense for a while and before they hung-up, Mirabelle told Tina not to think too much of what kind of dress she should bring. Tina laughed and said that she and Chandni would come with empty suitcases.

Mirabelle and Tina said "au revoir" to each other added with "bizous-bizous" and hung-up. Tina sighed and whispered "funny".

The Maghrebian Ladies

Maghreb is a term given to countries like Algeria and her neighbours. This part of the world used to be peaceful in the past but since the death of the last king of Egypt, this region fell into great tribulations. Nevertheless, there are still places where people can still enjoy life. The women still care about dressing up in the outfit of their glorious days. Below is a link of a video by DIVA EDITION, showing the sparkling and glamorous Maghrebian ladies gown

Planning for a picnic

On a Sunday like that day, people either stay home or spend their leisure time somewhere else. That Sunday, Tina was visited by all her friends including the business consultant. Chris, Mike and Richard, each brought with him a snack to share. Edward brought some drinks.

They sat in the salon and made some plans for  a picnic or a sort of an outing by the end of the year or the beginning of the following year before everyone resumed to work. Mike suggested a dinner in open air on a camping site. Richard suggested a weekend in a natural park.

While they were talking, Tina's computer's messenger rang, it was from Mauritius. Mirabelle  appeared on the screen. Tina introduced Mirabelle to her friends. Then Tina mentioned about what they were doing. Mirabelle jokingly suggested her island as their end of  year destination, but Tina regretfully refused because she was expecting Chandni. She told Mirabelle that she had a contact in India with whom she spent the Divali festival that year, and she had invited her Indian friend to spend the end of year festivity in Tina's place. Like jet-sets, so these people thought jet-sets. Mirabelle asked Tina to change her plan, to ask Chandni to join her and company at Mirabelle's island, that would be fun. Chris, Mike and Richard including Edward looked at each other and said to Tina that it would be a very good idea. A great adventure while closing the year. Tina agreed of the idea and said to Mirabelle she'd talked it over with her friends and let her know soonest.

While they were talking, moving around Tina's salon, Mike bumped into Chris and spilled his drink on Chris's beautiful Sunday dress. Chris went red....! Of rage or ...?

An invitation from India

As a dressmaker or seamstress, Tina needed inspirations. A jet-set girl with wide imagination loved to make friends, too. She made friends in and through many ways and one of the ways was through the Internet. One of her Internet contacts and friends was a girl called Chandni from India. A graduate in biology from an Indian University.

It was a week before the Indian Light Festival the Indians called "Divali", Chandni called Tina and invited her to come to her city in the state of  Andhra Pradesh to celebrate the Divali. And Tina accepted. Tina was told not to bring many outfits, Chandni said that she would dressed her up Indian ways.

So, Tina went. Arrived at Chandni's home, went to a room prepared by Chandni, she saw laying on the bed, dresses that Chandni mentioned. This left Tina open-mouthed and thought that Chandni was another hell of a crazy girl. Tina looked at Chandni who was sneering behind her. How much  all those dresses would cost, Tina asked, but Chandni said, they were all for Tina. Chandni was indeed another girl from a multi-millionaire family. The day came and the girls had fun with lights and dances and sweet dishes.

Tina stayed there for 2 weeks and she learned quite a few of Indian dressmaking tricks. She really had wonderful moments with Chandni. And before checking in the airport, Tina in return invited Chandni to spend New Year holiday in Jakarta.

Tina's Indecisive Saturday

What would she do on that Saturday? Tina'd been walking around her apartment. In the very early morning she was awaken by her " Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid " alarm from her Android. She had her breakfast with her head in the cloud, wondered what the day was, to realize it was Saturday.

Walking around from the bedroom to the sitting room then the dining room, scratching her head. Sat down on the sofa in front of her TV. Switched the TV on, came onto the screen something that made her jump . She stared at her TV screen with eyes widened then she sighed. She had her asset somewhere else. That was quite interesting, as she thought. Just the other day she and her friend Edward, a business consultant, talked about banking in relation with her plan.

As she got up from the sofa, she thought to put aside this matter for a while, it was a resting day. She picked up her phone and dial Chris. She asked Chris if she would be able to accompany her strolling the street that day, but Chris said she was already booked to make-up a bride for the evening.

Tina sighed as she hung up. Okay, she went to the kitchen, helped herself with a bite and browsed the Internet through her phone, searching for news on celebrities. Suddenly she spotted an advertisement about a rock concert which was to be held on that very evening. She checked on the availability of the entrance-ticket. Luckily, she got one bought on-line.

Boys fashion throughout the years

There was a girl, there was a boy, way back so many years ago. Girls wore skirts, Boys wore pants.  And the topic of girls has been spoken or written too many times and the boys seemed to be left out. Let us go back in time, let us say in 1960's. In those days, the Beatles trends were so popular that almost boys around the world copied their style. Let us see how it was...

The waistband of the pants was a bit higher than the waistline and went down straight or narrow at the bottom.

Now, let's see in the 1970's

This style came as waistband placed a little bit lower than the style in the 60's and the bottom is larger. Though it did not look exactly like a bell and yet they were called bell-bottomed. And in the mid 70's, the bell-bottom were enlarged even larger until they were mistakenly called the baggy-pants

The ones that were named baggy pants were actually a pair of pants like a bag by the hips and going down tighter from the knee to the ankle. And this style came back and worn popularly among teenagers in the beginning of third millenium. Worn on the lower waistline

Nowadays, the way the boys of this era dress-up is very negligent and care-free. They look funny in the eyes of the oldies. But as time goes by, era by era, changes happen and they are inevitable. As we wonder maybe in the next ten years, bell-bottom pants may come back with different lines more care-free than before.

Monday

The First Day

A week consists of 7 days. The first day, to some people, is Monday. The day after Sunday, a day after a good rest. Had fun all day long on Sunday, many people forget that the following day they have to go back to their usual chores and works. Monday morning comes, five or six o'clock in the morning as the sun starts rising, alarm clocks start ringing competing with the chirps of  the birds. People strive and struggle only to open their eyes to switch off the alarms. Body weighs heavy to be dragged off the bd, a singer sings a "Manic Monday" song somewhere.

Into the wardrobe, choosing an attire fit for the day. With a pair of half open eyes, deciding what to wear is a wonder and a difficult task to do. The Sunday mood still lingers around one own self. Could one by all means choose something like

 A super-hero symbol printed t-shirt and blown-by-the-wind hairstyle or

A t-shirt and a sport hat carrying a "it is still Sunday" expression to show up at work?
What an object of laughing-stock. A ridicule.

How would one get up from that state of trance every Monday morning? To shake up that lazy bones and make it move and boost the vital stamina?  This one thing one may do is to make it a habit to do light exercise before getting of the bed and then do the usual "toilette"  activities with live music to accompany. Then while standing in front of the wardrobe, one must use his imagination as which attire goes along with the day, maybe

that brings out the best look of an office employee, shows a creative and decisive person with strong characters, or something
that shows a cheerful, friendly and initiative assistant.

Dress and attires matter to anybody in passing their on and off time on Mondays. One succeeded in dealing with the heavy Mondays, will surely have wonderful following days till the next Sunday.
