Tina's Indecisive Saturday

What would she do on that Saturday? Tina'd been walking around her apartment. In the very early morning she was awaken by her " Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid " alarm from her Android. She had her breakfast with her head in the cloud, wondered what the day was, to realize it was Saturday.

Walking around from the bedroom to the sitting room then the dining room, scratching her head. Sat down on the sofa in front of her TV. Switched the TV on, came onto the screen something that made her jump . She stared at her TV screen with eyes widened then she sighed. She had her asset somewhere else. That was quite interesting, as she thought. Just the other day she and her friend Edward, a business consultant, talked about banking in relation with her plan.

As she got up from the sofa, she thought to put aside this matter for a while, it was a resting day. She picked up her phone and dial Chris. She asked Chris if she would be able to accompany her strolling the street that day, but Chris said she was already booked to make-up a bride for the evening.

Tina sighed as she hung up. Okay, she went to the kitchen, helped herself with a bite and browsed the Internet through her phone, searching for news on celebrities. Suddenly she spotted an advertisement about a rock concert which was to be held on that very evening. She checked on the availability of the entrance-ticket. Luckily, she got one bought on-line.

It was a bright day, Tina started deriving lists of the matters to be discussed with her friend, Edward or Eddy, who worked as a business consultant. She called him on the phone and told him briefly about the matters, subject and objective of their discussion regarding her plan.

Edward suggested that they should meet and Tina invited him to her residence located somewhere in the Cengkareng area not very far from the  international airport. It was a quite classy apartment.

Tina prepared everything, including some refreshments. And she stepped into some comfortable outfit

She said to herself dressing up like this in the hot big city of Jakarta would be very comfy. Edward came half an hour before three o'clock in the afternoon bringing a prospectus. That day Tina started her plan.

Tina was someone who had gotten so much into fashion business. At the beginning, she did a drop-shipping type of business. She collected orders and demanded a certain amount of money as a down-payment from her clients then went to collect the merchandise from the gross-seller.

She did this for quite sometime until she was able to collect a big sum of money that later she placed it as her capital to have a shop of her own. Before she got herself the shop, she did some studies about where she should get her shop, how it should be, what equipment should she get to furnish her fashion shop. And where to start. Should she have her shop in a hyper-commercial center or in a luxurious residential area where lived the rich and the jet-sets. The she decided pick the hyper-commercial center. She surfed the Internet for that space, then she decided the Grand Indonesia Mall. because she saw that it was in center of the Metropolitan Jakarta, where traffic was vast and had easy access. And also, there were not many tenants yet.

When she reached back home with the Mall in her mind, she started thinking the financial side of everything, and her brains turned around the Saturn planet in confusion. Something struck her mind, one of her ex-classmates in college! She grabbed her address-book and she found his numbers. This friend of hers worked in a company dealing with financial plans. She got him and she told him about her plan. Then they agreed for a meeting. When they met, her friend, before referring to his own company, suggested to her some other companies that he knew like Price Waterhouse and Coopers or Ameriprise Financial. And then her friend handed her his prospectus and quotations and a couple of module booklet for her to study.

Tina thanked her friend and promised him to let him know as she'd come to decision.

Those above are Tina's options, which among the three type of shop she would set up. The chic type, sprotif lux or the practical which she could make a co-tenancy with person who handled franchise. The last one could be her choice. Her clients could take a little longer time and at the same time could enjoy some drinks and snacks while discussing about fashion with her.

Spring fashion 2016 prediction (2)

The last time it was from Versace, this time is going to be from Balmain. Balmain is one of the most well-known fashion house, founded by Pierre Balmain . Very popular with its design as well as its perfumes and accessories.

Balmain has shown the possible next year spring trends. It shows in the video below that the Balmain designers, some of them is Olivier Rousteing,  seem to want the baggy-pants to come back. Baggy by the hips but tight by the calf down to the ankle. The baggies worn by the men look more like riding-gears. Quite excitingly nice! Especially if it is paired-up with coats either plain or with designs or embroidered. Even with leather jackets or officer's coat. Boots or any other kinds of footwear, both for men and women, belts, hand bag for women and shoulder-bags or backpack for men as accessories. Charming skirts and blouses are also exhibited.

Mostly come in dark color but some are black-and-white combinations, fuchsia, red wine and bright yellow and black combies.

Olivier's style is good for dynamic, busy and love-to-dress-to-kill young people. Even elderly people with young hearts may wear Olivier's creations.

Church day

The church day is Sunday. People normally dress up modestly in simple but chic contemporary style. But nowadays, many dress up a bit extra. To some pious that way of dressing up to the church is not very agreeable. Figures in the paddock

Sport is an activity that a person do to keep himself fit. They have gymnastics, games with balls like football, basketball and some other and there is some  sports that involves the horses. They are called ,so far, horse-racing, polo and equestrian. In this sport both the horse and the rider do tough movements. The rider has to wear the riding suits. All of those horsing sport are interesting, but according to survey, people go more to horse-racing tracks.

In the horse-racing tracks, crowds gather and they look so busy with what is commonly said programs and bets. And people are also seen in the paddocks where horses are getting ready for the run. There are found people dressing up to kill, women wearing attire of colorful shades and hats to complete and the men many in their dashing tuxedos and bow-ties and tall-hats. The paddocks turn into a fashion gallery.

A day at a horse race is fun, especially when one takes a place at an upper part of the spectators' lodge with a tele-camera in his hand. He surely can get the races recorded.

Remember, Tina had a friend called Mike? He is a handsome young man of 21. He had a lean profile like Daniel Craig, the latest James Bond actor. But his uncle Mahmoud was over-sized, because he liked good food. Single, not very ugly or quite a charming person despite of his fat looks. He always had problems in choosing what to wear for either, casual meetings or formal. One day, again he grumbled whole morning, because he wanted to meet a certain woman that he fancied meeting for quite sometime.

Hearing him, Mike came to his rescue. He took him out to a shopping spree. Going in and out shops in a hyper commercial center in the southern part of Jakarta, Pasaraya Sarinah of Blok M in the district of Kebayoran Baru. Then they saw what they were looking for, something like

Mike laughed and said that the t-shirt was not bad at all, but should his uncle be looking that formal, Mahmoud sneered and said that he would not look that awkward though. Who would know that maybe she would even appreciate his appearance.

Mahmoud exclaimed the set was nice, the style of the shirt he fancied, and the vest also. He took the   shirt of brighter color off the hanger as well as the matching vest and pants. Mike put a thumbs up. At last they had decided and Mahmoud would surely had a wonderful evening with her.

A dressmaker was taking a break from her daily dressmaking activities in her small workshop. She thought of searching for some inspirations from the shops downtown. She wanted to see what kind of fashion craze was in the market in her days. As she walked down the street of the city, her eyes fell on a shirt, a man's shirt. Looked very nice, the man who wears it may look outstanding. To her, it was a shirt which could bring out the best of a man's appearance. She laughed to herself, as she thought of sewing something like that. Thinking that men's shirts are a tailor's world, not a dressmaker's.

She studied the shirt, visualizing her boyfriend in it. She sneered. Yes, he would surely looked nice and handsome. Then she walked further down the street, into a market place. There she saw a number of style they hung in the open air, swaying blown by the wind.

She looked at them, surfed among those hanging shirts in many variety. There were also some not internationally known brands like Burgeon, Kenzo but are quite selling in the second degree markets. Then her eyes caught sight of a brand that was familiar to her, lying on the merchant's table. The brand that her male elders used to wear when she was a child

She remembered the style of that time. The tip of the collar was larger and there weren't any button to button the tip of the collar to the bodice of the shirt. She secretly smiled as the memory  how her father and uncles used to discuss about this brand after every purchase came to her.

Thank God, she brought enough money in her purse. Christmas would soon be coming, it was good for her to get one for him while she had the means.

There was a girl, there was a boy, way back so many years ago. Girls wore skirts, Boys wore pants.  And the topic of girls has been spoken or written too many times and the boys seemed to be left out. Let us go back in time, let us say in 1960's. Nowadays, the way the boys of this era dress-up is very negligent and care-free. They look funny in the eyes of the oldies. But as time goes by, era by era, changes happen and they are inevitable. As we wonder maybe in the next ten years, bell-bottom pants may come back with different lines more care-free than before.

Halloween

Chris banged at Tina's door, and burst inside the moment Tina opened the door. Out of breath, Chris, also a bit enraged told Tina that her  Halloween costumes that she had prepared were torn apart by her brother's poodle. Tina asked her to calm down and said there would always be a solution. There was still one week to go before the Night of the Halloween. Tina went to the kitchen to get Chris a glass of water. And she did not forget some biscuits.

Then both of them sat on a couch with Tina's laptop and some catalog on the table. Halloween costumes hunt started. While hunting, Chris showed Tina that her torn costumes was

Tina sneered said that Chris surely would  had looked nice in it. Then as they continued looking and searching from the catalogs on the table and internet, Tina found a couple of costumes and suggested them to Chris ...

These costumes looked just right for the night. Chris laughed and agreed. So, right away, they grabbed all that they needed to bring to purchase those costumes from Halloween Shop .

The over size

A self-conscious woman thinks a lot about her body. She would often watch herself in the mirror, and ask herself whether her looks are alright to the eyes of who ever sees her. Whether her size is alright or somehow too big and too fat or too small and skinny. To a woman, size and shape of a body matter very much. It concerns very much about what kind of dress would go right with her body and pose.

For small and skinny ladies, there will not be too many difficulties in getting into some dresses. Small and skinny ladies need many surplus decorations to cover her body so that she will look a little bit more filled or look a bit more solid than the real fragile person she is. Skinny or thin person may wear a set of suits with shoulder pads or sheered on the waist dresses or skirts.

Tina's sad Saturday

The Friday before when Tina suggested to her friends that they should go to Las Vegas for that Grand Opening, her jetset friends actually agreed. They had already collected their funds, and Tina called a charter flight agency to take them to the USA. But, to their disappointment, there wasn't any free jet available for such a short notice. So, those youngsters had to bite their fingers.

Saturday spent by attending a fashion show . They bought the tickets, were quite costly. Just to throw away bad luck, they thought. As the fashion show started, their eyes grew big. They asked each other whether those gowns exhibited were meant for Queen Rania of Jordan, because they suddenly realized that they had come to a  muslim fashion show. The gowns and the head-dresses were elaborately designed. Some gave the impression of Korean and some African influence. So that was it!

They hung around in the venue for an hour then Tina called a car by using a special apps called Uber in her smartphone. While waiting, they discussed of what they would like to do that Saturday evening. Should they stay at Tina's doing pajamas time, means spending Saturday night at a friend's, from dinner time till Sunday morning, or go to a cinema. In the end, as a car approached, they decided to do pajamas time.

Fashion predictions for 2016 (1)

Ladies will always go  "folle" alias crazy about dresses and gowns and shoes et cetera, et cetera, et cetera... They wait for the next vogue to come to  exhibition that they will be able to decide which will be nice to wear by each one of them. Many go to premier gala fashion show to be one of the first to get the first glimpse of the latest style. Fashion of 2015 is already laid out, and those renowned designers have started with their predictions how fashion will be next year.

This time the topic will be fashion prediction from Gucci. This brand is offering Bohemian style and color as well as oriental materials cut into contemporary European and American styles. As accessories, Gucci never forgets its typical trademark decoration or brooch on the bags and footwear. The video below will show how colorful Gucci's ladies will be by next year of 2016

Weekend excitement

People often say "Thank God, it's Friday", so this Friday our friend and her friends were planning to have an exciting weekend. They searched in the Internet something or some places they could do or go to during this end of the week. Tina with her laptop, Chris with her Android and with them are other friends, Mike and Richard. Two young groomers who love to dress to kill to entice pretty girls.

Chris suggested an adventure in a natural park, the boys supported her, but Tina said they don't have enough equipment for such a pastime. Then Tina suggested that they should go and stroll some shops or arcade and then have some snacks in a corner for this week. They could go on an adventure in peak summer. During peak summer, the forest would be good, for there would be trees and shades.

Suddenly Tina saw something quite interesting in the Internet, it is in Las Vegas. No, Tina wasn't thinking of casino but this... An American Girl Grand Opening at Fashion Show Mall, Las Vegas. She showed her friends and they all gathered by her in front of the laptop. An event! An opening of a store and girls would receive gifts!!! Gosh, it is tomorrow Saturday the 17 October 2015 and the following day Sunday. Tina said they should not miss this opportunity, and they all decided to go the grand opening of the store.

It was the day, the sun shone its soft golden rays on that particular Saturday morning. Tina thought that this bride friend of hers was so lucky. To Tina this friend of her was really a special person that even nature seemed to shower a kind of glorious benediction.

Tina got herself ready meticulously. It was a good thing, she had called her friend Chris to do her make up. In fact, Chris was also a friend of the bride. After they both were ready, the limo that Tina hired arrived and to Tina's satisfaction it was a...

When Chris went out following Tina, after Tina said that a car had come for them, Chris exclaimed that Tina was crazy. Chris asked her how much she had spent for that marvelous car that would make them feel like VIPs. Tina replied that she could afford it.

Excitedly, two third-millenium "princesses" got on the limousine and rode heading towards their destination. The reception hall  was quite far. When they arrived at the lieu, there were already quite a number of cars parked in the parking area in front of the hall, and some people were getting in.

They got off the car and in they went. The Hall was brightly lit and soft music was playing and to their relief, they arrived before the wedded couple. They took their seats where they could see the wedded couple well.

Fifteen minutes later, the music in the hall changed giving a sign that the newly-married couple had arrived. The guests stood up. The groom looked so handsome in his suits and the bride looked to beautiful and elegant in her wedding gown. The girls had good time till it was time to go home.

Tina's Fashion Accessories

Tina looked at the calendar, and told herself that time was really running. She looked at the gown she had prepared yesterday, now... what next??? Accessories that was what she needed. Jewelry, hand bag and shoes.

Took out all her jewelry, gold and imitations. Should she wear gold? Or imitation? It did not matter to her. She found several sets of jewelries with stones of the same shade with her hot pink long skirt but paler. She thought they should go well, but this time,  silver or gold..

At last she decided to wear silver with small pastel pink stone. Smiling she continued with choosing her purse and footwear from  among her vast collections and chose

At last, she was happy to see what she had chosen for herself and she'd be ready to attend the wedding reception which was coming in the following day. All she had to do was to call for a hired limousine. :D 

What will go with this?

Tina is an Indonesian living in Jakarta. Just a simple girl who likes dressing up and go in style. One day she received an invitation to a wedding reception. And, bad luck, at that time, she had nothing new in stock and the wedding was only a week away. She ransacked her trunk where she keeps all the left-over clothing materials. Just in the nick of time, when she was about to close the trunk thinking that there wouldn't be anything worth taking out from there, her eyes caught something shiny and sparkling from among the heap of "rubbish". She pulled it out, to her surprised, saying to herself why she had forgotten that thing. A material made of lace pale lemon color with silver thread and pastel pink and lavender "splash". An idea came, she thought she could make a blouse out of it, in fact only that the material could give.

Four whole days passed, in the end she came to complete something like

Now, two days to go till the reception. This time she wondered what kind of a skirt would go with that simple cut blouse. She thought she had to find the skirt from a shop or market. Then went out strolling the shopping arcade.., ha! at last she came to a shop that showed her many color options of the style she fancied..

She saw that eggplant or teal or hot pink color may match with her blouse. After about ten minutes of pondering, she decided to take hot pink color. That would look nice on her Indonesian brown skin under the evening light of the wedding hall. And she was satisfied. :)

 

Michael Kors, a designer

Many have heard about Michael Kors and his creations. He design wardrobe fashion as well as its accessories. In Mauritius, so far, that can be found in the internet by Michael Kors, is only the beautiful and exquisite sunglasses, as for the wardrobe fashion is still rare. It seem that is difficult for the designers from the west to compete in the market with the local designers. Nowadays, the local designers are eager to penetrate the European and American markets. Nevertheless, it is worth the while to see more of Kors' designs

The other day, I surfed for Kors' video in YouTube and found his Spring Summer 2015 Fashion Show , showed sheared floral-printed skirt with matching light t-shirt as well as a baby-collared dress, looked nice to wear in spring. half-balloon cut printed skirts that sway to the rythm of movement of the body of the models. And to my amazement, there are a couple of a "rain-coat look" dresses which
will surely invites smiles and sneers of the lookers. Anyway, one should take life lively, though to some eyes they may look ridiculous but definitely not to those who knows how to appreciate arts. Some of gens style and vogue are also shown there. I must say that Kors' designs are contemporary, the style comes all throughout the era.

I was wondering if really there isn't any of Kors' women fashion dresses in Mauritius, the island where I am. As I have mentioned above, there are only his sunglasses , like..

Mature spring street style

Adolescence stage has passed but to remain chic and presentable is always the aim of the groomers. Getting older should not stop anyone from continuing grooming. One must always have the passion to follow style and trends that nobody would want to cast him away into the dark corner of shabbiness.
